Cultural Week and Dominican Festival 2009 Kick-Off
Join us celebrate the largest Dominican Festival in New England!
Boston, MA. August 7, 2009 – " ” (New England Cultural Week), and the newly formed committee of “La Sociedad Cultural Dominicana” (Dominican Cultural Society) joined forces to coordinate the 29th Annual Dominican Festival and Latino Health Fair on Sunday, August 16, 2009. This year's festival and cultural week’s theme, "Yo soy Dominicano" (I’m Dominican), is dedicated to encourage cultural pride and to reinforce the younger generation's knowledge of the history of their origins.
The events and festivities during “La Semana Cultural” (The Cultural Week) will culminate in a colorful parade that will lead to the grand Dominican Festival at Franklin Park, where more than 30,000 Latinos from different backgrounds will enjoy a variety of musical performances of local bands and other artists coming from New York, a special participation of the youth dance group Roca’s Essencia Latina, family activities, ethnic food, and free medical screenings and other services at the largest Latino health fair in New England.
We invite you to be part of this opportunity and support our cause. There are many ways to participate:
